Book Review: THE DOOR IN THE MOUNTAIN by Chris Cornetto

THE DOOR IN THE MOUNTAIN is an intense, old-fashioned fantasy adventure mixed with cosmic horror and written with a modern sensibility. Author Chris Cornetto does a superb job of building his world and characters without drowning the reader in superfluous detail; everything moves at a brisk, rollicking clip, and yet you can't help but care what happens to this motley crew of ne'er-do-wells and their world. Cornetto has taken a tried-and-true Dungeons & Dragons formula and breathed new life into it; fans of Howard, Lieber, Feist, and yes, even Lovecraft, will find a lot to love in THE DOOR IN THE MOUNTAIN, and will no doubt look forward to more adventures set in this world.
